Prototyping
KMC draws on an array of powerful tools for prototyping and evaluating new part designs.
Depending on the requirement, we may produce prototypes using conventional stamping and forming means, with either existing dies or through rapid prototyping tools. Or, through our KMC LaserForm operation, we can often deliver better prototypes faster and at lower cost — since our laser presses require no hard tooling.
As a result multiple design variations can be prototyped before production tooling is committed.
For customers on an extremely tight schedule, KMC can send a rapid-response team of engineers, designers and manufacturing specialists directly to your site. Preliminary drawings, costs and production estimates are provided within 48 hours of the visit, and a prototype can be delivered within 72 hours.
